Nissan VDC or Vehicle Dynamic Control is the name Nissan uses for its stability control system. The system is a standard feature on Nissan vehicles and helps keep the vehicle safely on the road by working with the traction control system (TCS). VDC monitors steering and brake inputs and senses if the vehicle starts to under or over-steer. It then corrects the situation by reducing engine speed and applying the brakes to individual wheels. The VDC system works in most situations, but like many stability and traction control systems may need to be disabled when trying to get the vehicle out of mud or snow.
