2012 Nissan Rogue Video Road Test and Review

The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover SUV that prizes handling and a sporty attitude in addition to its practical nature.  The four-door Nissan Rogue can carry four passengers, and it is known for its comfortable and well-turned-out interior.  From a safety perspective, the Nissan Rogue offers side curtain airbags that extend along the length of the entire passenger compartment, seat-mounted side airbags up front, and dual-stage forward airbags,  It also features electronic stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes.

All versions of the Nissan Rogue are motivated by the same 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine.  Capable of generating 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, this unit is matched with a continuously-variable automatic transmission that sends power to either the front or all four wheels (if optional all-wheel drive is selected).  Fuel mileage for the Rogue checks in at 22-mpg city and 28-mpg highway.

The entry-level Rogue S (MSRP $22,070) comes with air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a CD player, a trip computer, 16-inch steel wheels, and cruise control.  Stepping up to the Rogue SV (MSRP $24,510) adds keyless entry and ignition, 17-inch alloy rims, nicer upholstery for the vehicle's seats (including power adjustments for the driver), and Bluetooth.

Several options packages can be bundled with the Rogue.  The Rogue S can be customized via the Special Edition package (16-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows, an LCD screen for the upgraded entertainment system, fog lights, backup camera, satellite radio), while the SV can be had with the Premium package (navigation system, sunroof, automatic climate control) or the SL package (contents of the Premium package plus heated leather seats, 18-inch rims, HID headlights, Bose sound system, 360-degree camera system).
