The 2019 Cadillac XT4 is an all-new luxury subcompact SUV that adds a smaller, more affordable option to the Cadillac lineup. It’s available in a range of three trims priced from $34,795 to $39,295. Standard features include an eight-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar, 8-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Power across the range comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. It’s an appealing five-passenger option, but there’s lots of competition. Here are 10 Cadillac XT4 competitors to consider.
The 2019 BMW X1 is a luxury subcompact SUV that firmly targets the driver who craves performance. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder engine with 229 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. A range of drive modes includes eco pro, comfort, and sport to take full advantage of its responsiveness.
The X1 is quick with a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds in models equipped with all-wheel drive, and debuts with a starting price of $34,950. This Cadillac XT4 competitor offers a great combination of luxury car amenities with a stronger focus on power and handling than offered by the typical luxury vehicle.

The 2019 Volvo XC40 is all-new to the Volvo lineup with a starting price of $33,700. This is refined luxury with an elegant design and quality materials, minus the flashiness of other luxury choices. It comes with a wide range of standard safety features including automatic post-collision braking, rear collision mitigation support, and City Safety collision avoidance. It’s a top Cadillac XT4 competitor to consider for those who put a priority on safety, as the XT4 offers more limited standard safety features.
Power for the three-trim lineup comes from a choice of two 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. Base trims get 187 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, while the more powerful engine offers 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The 2019 Infiniti QX30 is a more affordable Cadillac XT4 competitor to consider. It’s available in four trims, starting at $30,150 for the base Pure trim. Even with its lower pricing, the QX30 is well-equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control. Power across the lineup comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The top Sport trim is priced at $40,100, which is less than what you’ll pay for some mid-range trims from competitors. This version of the QX30 gets sport seats, a sportier exterior design, and additional safety features like front and rear parking sensors. The QX30 is an affordable option that doesn’t make you feel like you compromised.

The 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a Cadillac XT4 competitor to consider if you’re looking for a more capable option. It’s available in six trims that easily can take you from smooth highway cruising to rugged off-road adventuring. Pricing is a bit higher than competitors with the base SE coming in at $41,800, but it’s still a strong offering with standard all-wheel drive and all-terrain progress control.
Like the XT4, there’s room for five passengers, unless you go with the convertible – an option that makes the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque unique. The convertible has room for only four passengers and higher pricing that starts at $52,100, but there’s no better way to enjoy sunny weather.

The 2019 Lexus UX is another all-new model for those in the market for a Cadillac XT4 competitor. It has a slightly lower starting price of $32,000 with a range of three trims, including the F-Sport which boasts sportier design elements and a specially-tuned suspension. Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 hp and 151-lb ft of torque with front-wheel drive only.
If you put a priority on fuel economy, there also are three hybrid trims of the UX offered at a slightly higher starting price of $34,000 and standard all-wheel drive. It gets an EPA-estimated 41 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway, and 39 mpg combined, making it a good choice for commuters.

The 2019 Jaguar E-PACE has a luxurious interior with a choice of two powerful engines in a wide range of trims. Base models get their power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 246 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, so even the base E-Pace is a spirited drive. It does 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds with a top speed of 143 mph.
Step up to the R-Dynamic trims and get an increase to 296 hp with 295 lb-ft of torque. This more powerful engine has a slightly higher top speed of 146 mph and will go from 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds. Pricing for the Jaguar E-PACE starts at $38,900.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is available only in one trim with a starting price of $33,950. It offers a choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive and standard features including dual-zone automatic climate control, power liftgate, and 14-way power front seats. It’s an affordable choice, but those who want a more performance-focused option should consider the AMG GLA 45.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GLA 45 starts at $53,350 and has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 375 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. That extra power gives it a 0-60 time of only 4.3 seconds, ensuring this luxury crossover is anything but boring.

An all-new 2019 Audi Q3 is set to arrive in the U.S. later this summer with standard all-wheel drive and a more powerful engine. It’s also longer, taller, and wider than the outgoing model, giving it a more aggressive stance. Power for the new Q3 will come from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
There’s a standard 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 8.8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving the Q3 a high-tech feel. Starting price for the base Premium trim is $34,700, while the top S Line Prestige comes in at $42,900.

The 2019 Lexus NX is slightly larger than the all-new UX, offering a roomy Cadillac XT4 competitor to consider. It might be larger, but it’s still compact enough to work well for those who live in urban environments where parking spaces are tight and streets are crowded.
The three-trim lineup is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 235 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, with pricing starting from $36,485. A hybrid version of the NX also is available in a single trim priced at $38,835, achieving an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 33 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 31 mpg combined.

The base front-wheel drive model starts at $36,400, while the next step up the trim range adds all-wheel drive at a price of $38,400. Both are powered by a 2.0-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Sitting at the top of the X2 lineup and priced at $46,450 is the sporty M35i, with 302 hp and 322 lb-ft of torque. It gets M sport design elements inside and outside, along with an M Sport exhaust and differential. If you want your luxury crossover to drive more like a sporty sedan, then the X2 M35i is a good choice.
