When Hyundai unveiled the Veloster hot hatch, enthusiasts were left asking for a bit more in terms of one-off performance. So when the turbocharged Rally Edition (wearing Matte Blue paint and rolling on a set of Ray's alloys) came to town, all was quickly forgiven. If you are looking to drive something sporty on a daily basis but also need some practicality; then the hot hatchback segment is a good place to start. The 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Rally Edition certainly looks the part with its Matte Blue paint job. While the base model Veloster edition starts at $19,100; this top-of-the-line model goes for $23,950. The outside screams for attention with the aforementioned Matte Paint, large flat black front grille, carbon fiber chin splitter, and black RAYS wheels. Out back is a center exit exhaust system. Under the hood is a 1.6 liter turbocharged GDi 4-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy comes in at 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway. The transmission is a 6-speed manual and the suspension is more aggressive. The Rally Edition interior is inspired by a sport bike with colored trim and lettering.
Competitors for the 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Rally Edition include the Scion tC, FIAT 500 Abarth and Ford Fiesta ST.
