Driver Easy Speak Allows Driver's Voice To Be Heard Through Rear Speakers
Toyota found great success with their "Swagger Wagon" ad campaign surrounding the new Sienna. It proved that a minivan wasn't the end of the world and, in fact, could actually be a lot fun. Well, the automaker is using the swag motif once again with the reveal of the refreshed 2015 Sienna.
At first glance, the 2015 Sienna's exterior looks like the current model. But after looking a bit closer, there are some changes to take note of. There is a new grille and lower section of the front fascia that gives the van a more modern look. Around the back are reshaped taillights. The 3.5L V6 remains the same, but the suspension has been given a few tweaks to make it a bit stiffer.
The big changes are inside. First off, the dashboard has been changed to feature improved controls for the HVAC system and more soft touch materials. An optional 4.2-inch color screen in the instrument cluster will display trip computer information and navigation. Also new is what Toyota calls Driver Easy Speak. A built-in microphone is placed near the driver which projects the voice to the rear speakers. So if your kids are fighting, you can use the built in mic to tell them to stop. An available pull-down mirror also keeps an eye on whether or not your kids are behaving.
The 2015 Sienna makes its first public debut at Artscape, a free arts festival in Baltimore, Maryland from July 18th to the 20th.
