2015 Honda Accord Sport Sedan Test Drive and Video Review

Honda says the Accord is the best-selling car in the United States, a claim that rival Toyota makes about its Camry. What’s the difference? Toyota’s figures include fleet sales (like rental car agencies and other businesses) and Honda’s numbers are consumer sales only. Looking at the new 2015 Accord midsize sedan, it’s easy to see why. Chris Wardlaw, Autobytel’s Road Test Editor, drove the 2015 Accord in the Sport trim level, and came away deciding that the Accord easily beats out the Camry in terms of driving pleasure and refinement. Autobytel’s test Accord Sport, as seen here, was equipped with foglights, an exclusive 18-inch wheel design, sport suspension, 10-way power driver’s seat, trunk lip spoiler, and dual exhaust system that boosts the car’s horsepower slightly, from 185 to 189. However, there are no a la carte upgrades on this particular trim level. The Honda Accord Sport is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that Honda calls Earth Dreams., and it comes standard with a CVT gearbox that features preprogrammed driving modes and paddle shifters. Opting for the available 6-speed manual transmission limits the choice of exterior colors to black or gray. The Honda Accord Sport is rated for 29 mpg in combined driving, although it fell a bit short during Autobytel’s spirited testing. The 2015 Honda Accord Sport starts at $24,665.
