Carbon Edition Appearance Packs Debut This Fall
2015 gmc sierra carbon edition
Following a similar strategy spearheaded by the 2015 Chevy Silverado, which will introduce new "Rally" edition trucks this fall, the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 will get its own appearance upgrades for the new model year in the form of "Carbon Editions."
Available for the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE double and crew cabs, the new style enhancements actually come in three different stages:
The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon Edition leads off with a black-painted grille, bold carbon-fiber-style hood and tailgate graphics, body-color exterior trim, remote keyless entry, a 110-volt power supply and LED cargo box lighting
Moving up to the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon 20, owners will start with a Sierra SLE double-cab model, then add the same graphics package plus a set of eye-catching 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The range-topper here is the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon 22—offered for Sierra SLE double and crew cabs—that unsurprisingly provides 22-inch wheels, this time with a black-alloy design, as well as four-inch black-tubular side steps and the same carbon graphics and exterior trim enhancements as the other Carbon models. Also on the menu with the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon 22 are upscale touches like dual-zone climate controls, fog lamps, remote keyless start, a Universal Home Remote, and a 110-volt outlet.
To further appeal to more truck fans, the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon will be available with either a standard 285-hp EcoTec3 V6 that carries 305 lb.-ft. of torque or the premium 5.3-liter V8 that ratchets outputs up to 355 hp with 380 lb.-ft. of torque, while also providing a choice between rear- or all-wheel drive.
The party line from Stuart Pierce, marketing manager for the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500: “The beauty of the new Sierra lies in its strength and sophistication. But for customers wanting to stand out and make a strong statement, the Sierra Carbon Edition models are the answer.”
Pricing for the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Carbon Editions starts at $33,075, with ordering now open for double-cab models; crew-cab ordering is set to kick off next month.
