Price Rises $150 with Debut of New Exterior Finish
As the compact luxury sedan segment continues to coalesce in this country, one of its core members, the 2015 Acura ILX, will come to the marketplace with an MSRP of $27,050 and a new available exterior finish: "Modern Steel Metallic" takes the place of "Polished Metal Metallic" (seriously).
Of course, the car did receive a fairly deep refresh for 2014, and that price bump of $150 provides standard features like:
The 2015 Acura ILX also offers some nice upgrades from the navigation and audio departments, highlighted by an Acura/ELS sound system boasting 10 speakers, inluding a powered 8-inch subwoofer, along with Dolby Pro Logic II surround-sound technology, voice-control and a 15-gig hard drive. Now, it must be noted that the 2015 Acura ILX is a tad light on modern-day driver-assistance features like blind-spot alert, etc., but it does offer one particularly interesting opportunity for more enthusiastic drivers.
A quick check of the pricing menu shows that the 2015 Acura ILX with the "Premium Package" comes in at $29,350 and delivers enhancements like a 360-watt audio system with subwoofer and SMS text-messaging functionality. Then, you can consider the car's sportier powertrain a no-cost option, since the MSRP of the Premium-packaged, bigger-engined 2015 Acura ILX remains unchanged even with the more athletic hardware. Which, to be specific, mates a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine to a six-speed manual transmission, while enabling drivers to enjoy 201 horses and 170 lb.-ft. of torque as well as EPA grades of 22 mpg city/31 mpg highway/25 mpg combined.
The 2015 Acura ILX is on its way to dealerships now. The 2015 Acura ILX Hybrid will still be sold in Canada but is being discontinued in the United States.
