MSRP Open at $15,990 with Improved Driving Dynamics
Even backed by a fairly strong sales performance so far this year, including a +49 percent jump in October deliveries, the 2014 Nissan Sentra will get a noticeable upgrade in terms of driving performance. And then it will add some additional comfort and convenience improvements as well, and all without an increase in its starting price. That remains at $15,990 for the standard model, relying on a six-speed manual gearbox, although the price of admission to the Sentra with a CVT does bump up $200 as compared to this version’s 2013 MSRP, and now sits at $16,790.
On the other hand, all models of the 2014 Nissan Sentra do get those aforementioned performance enhancements, which include a wholesale retune of the car’s electric power steering and suspension systems, as well as engine-noise reduction measures and, for CVT-equipped Sentras, a retuned Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Also new for the 2014 Nissan Sentra family:
Motivating the 2014 Nissan Sentra lineup will be the automaker’s 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 130 hp, 128 lb.-ft. of torque and an EPA line of up to 30 mpg city/40 mpg highway/34 mpg combined.
"Though totally revised just last year with a ‘class above' look and feel inside and out, at Nissan we continuously strive to make our great vehicles even better," said Fred Diaz, divisional vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing, Service & Parts, Nissan North America, Inc. "With Sentra, we looked at every aspect of the vehicle—chassis, handling, quietness, fabrics and other critical customer touchpoints—and dialed things up to a higher level of refinement."
