In 2010, Kia replaced the long standing and sadly aging Spectra compact sedan and hatchback with the brand new Forte. The Forte brought a number of improvements and body styles (sedan, coupe, and five-door hatchback) to serve the needs of young buyers. Now, Kia has began to slowly retire this current generation of Forte and introduce the next-generation Forte, starting with the 2014 Forte sedan.
The 2014 Forte Sedan starts with handiwork of Kia President and Head of Design of Hyundai and Kia, Peter Schreyer. Many elements of Kia’s design language are present; the brand’s signature grille, LEDs running along the perimeter of the headlights, large taillights, and muscular lines. Moving inside, the Forte sedan sees a major overhaul with a newer design and much nicer materials used throughout. Standard features see a rise as well with Bluetooth, chrome trim, power windows, mirrors, and door locks.
Forte EX models adds Kia's UVO infotainment system and new for 2013, UVO eServices. eServices uses your smartphone to provide emergency services, maintenance information, making appointments with your dealer, and much more. Other standard features for the Forte EX include keyless entry, backup camera, and a cooled glove box.
Kia will offer two engines on the 2014 Forte sedan:
The 1.8L is available with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, while the 2.0L is available only with a six-speed automatic.
The EPA rates the 2014 Forte at:

Competitors for the 2014 Forte sedan include the Ford Focus, Honda Civic, and Toyota Corolla.
