2014 Jeep Wrangler Unleashes New Dragon Edition

Limited-run Wrangler Based on Beijing Concept

Developed from a striking concept study that debuted at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition—to help kick off the year of the dragon—a limited-edition 2014 Jeep Wrangler is coming to U.S. dealerships to [insert your own Bruce Lee reference here].

The aptly named 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition will have an MSRP of $36,095, and it will take a slightly different approach to the off-road icon by focusing more on delivering a premium driving environment than to enhancing its already stellar four-wheel-drive capabilities.

As explained by Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep brand: “When we introduced the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept last year, we received tremendously positive feedback. Our loyal Jeep enthusiasts asked us to build this unique Wrangler, and we are delivering exactly what they’ve asked for. The new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition boasts a stunning, unique, upscale design with styling cues that make it unlike any Wrangler ever seen before.”

Only available in the four-door Wrangler Unlimited body-style with three-piece hard top, the Dragon Edition is offered solely in Black, with an exterior highlighted by Bronze Satin Gloss accents on the front grille slats, headlamp surrounds and traditional Jeep badging, as well as exclusive matte-black 18-inch alloy wheels with a five-spoke design and Satin Bronze High-Gloss outer edge.

Then there’s the dragon. Created using a Dark Charcoal decal, the serpentine creature crawls from the driver’s side door across the hood of the 2014 Jeep Wrangler to deliver an eye-catching custom-look appearance.

Gloss-black bumper appliques, a smaller dragon decal for the spare-tire cover and an aftermarket fuel-filler door from Mopar complete the exterior upgrades, while the cabin shows the same bronze-on-black color treatment, upgraded with heated Nappa leather seating and capped off by a dragon graphic overlay integrated into the gauge cluster.

The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition is scheduled to enter dealerships this fall.
