2014 Jeep Cherokee to Get a Lift from New Altitude Model

After earning more than 25,000 sales in its first two full months on the market, the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will look to continue that momentum with the recent debut of a special “Altitude” edition at the Houston Auto Show. The blackout-style appearance package actually was first introduced at the Houston event in 2012, on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and high customer interest led Jeep to introduce Altitude models across the brand.

Beginning this spring, the package will be offered for the first time on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, and also return to the Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.

Explained Mike Manley, president and CEO of the Jeep division: “The unique ‘blacked-out’ theme of the Jeep Altitude models resonated so well with consumers two years ago that it makes perfect sense to bring them back now, particularly since we have new versions of the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. What began as a production-intent concept … generated significant buzz and evolved into a lineup of special-edition Jeep vehicles that appeal to many consumers—especially those wanting a very distinct, aggressive and edgy look.”

More specifically, that look will feature:

• 2014 Jeep Cherokee Altitude (MSRP: $24,995)—Gloss-black grille surrounds, roof rails and 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, complemented by a gloss-black lower applique for the front fascia, black daylight-opening trim and a black cabin; available exterior colors for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Altitude are Brilliant Black Crystal Metallic, Bright White, Billet Silver Metallic and Granite Crystal Metallic, all with clear-coat finishes.
• 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude (MSRP: $35,290)—Gloss-black front-grille bezel inserts and a textured platinum-chrome grille; accented headlamp, fog-lamp and taillights bezels; 20-inch five-spoke aluminum wheels; and an interior distinguished by black Capri leather seating with heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters, Chrysler Group’s 8.4-inch Uconnect system and more. Exterior colors include Billet Silver, Bright White, Brilliant Black Metallic, Deep Cherry, Granite Crystal and Maximum Steel.
• 2014 Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited Altitude (MSRP: $31,595)—Matte black grille combined with gloss-black head-lamp rings, Jeep badging, bumper appliques and 18-inch seven-spoke aluminum wheels, then fitted with an interior boasting black-leather, black-stitched seats, a matching leather-wrapped steering wheel, black-finish hex bolts, and black-painted vent rings and grab handles; Amp’d Black, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue are available exterior colors.
