2013 Toyota Land Cruiser SUV Video Review

There are a select group of vehicles whose reputation precedes them: Jeep Wrangler, Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, and the model we're taking a look at today, the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser. First introduced back in the fifties as a vehicle for the military, the Land Cruiser has gone through many changes and gained a reputation as being a vehicle that can get you anywhere.

Toyota offers many variations of the Land Cruiser throughout the world, but in North America we get this one; the Land Cruiser 200 Series or just Land Cruiser. Outside, the Land Cruiser has a very blocky shape that gives off an aura of toughness. The back features a spilt-opening tailgate that makes loading and unloading a bit easier. Moving inside, the Land Cruiser is well appointed with leather, wood trim, navigation, heated and cooled seats, four-zone climate control, and more. You'll also find seating for eight, but be warned that it is somewhat tight.

Powering the Land Cruiser is a 5.7L V8 engine with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system. The EPA rates the 2013 Land Cruiser at 13 City/18 Highway/15 Combined.

As for its off-road chops, the 2013 Land Cruiser has them in spades. To start, you'll have 8.9 inches of ground clearance. The Land Cruiser also features a Multi-Terrain Monitor which uses cameras around the vehicle to let you know if you're driving into danger and Multi-terrain Select which allows you to pick from five different settings to help you tackle the terrain.
