2013 Subaru BRZ Video Review

Subaru has been known for building vehicles with four-wheel/all-wheel drive for the past twenty to thirty years. The 2013 BRZ is a different animal entirely, being Subaru’s first rear-wheel drive vehicle built within the past fifty years. The BRZ comes from a partnership between Toyota and Subaru. Toyota handled the design of the coupes, hence why the BRZ and Scion FR-S look similar. Subaru handled the mechanical bits.

The mechanical bits begin with a 2.0L FA20 flat-four boxer engine producing 200 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The boxer engine was chosen for its light weight and its ability to sit low in the vehicle, thus improving the center of gravity and handling. You can pair the 2.0L with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Inside the BRZ is a bit more luxurious than its sister car, the FR-S. There is a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a touchscreen headunit, and push button start to name a few features.
