The Scion FR-S is an all-new, rear-wheel drive compact coupe that relies on a lightweight design, a balanced suspension system, and a high-revving engine to offer appreciable levels of performance. The sleek-looking Scion FR-S can seat four passengers and comes with safety equipment that includes side curtain airbags front and rear, seat-mounted side impact airbags for those riding in the first two positions, and dual-stage forward airbags. Traction control and stability control are also along for the ride. The Scion FR-S features a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine under the hood that has been tuned to provide 200 horses and 151 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard while a six-speed automatic unit can be ordered as an option. Fuel mileage for the FR-S is listed at 25-mpg around town and 34-mpg on the highway.
The Scion FR-S - like most vehicles built by the brand - is sold in a single trim level that is designed to be customized via an extensive options and accessories list. The FR-S comes with 17-inch rims, Bluetooth connectivity, a CD player, a USB and iPod interface, power windows and door locks, air conditioning, and cruise control. Scion also offers a performance parts program for the FR-S in order to help improve its suspension, aerodynamic, and engine performance all starting at $25,500.
A list of cars similar to the FR-S include the 2013 Subaru BRZ, 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and 2013 Ford Mustang.
