Now for something completely different from the Lexus lineup, the IS-F. The IS-F is currently the most hardcore, driver-focused Lexus on sale. A driver-focused Lexus? Isn’t that a contradictory statement? Not at all. Let us explain.
The Lexus IS-F starts with your basic IS and builds from there. The exterior gets a mean body kit treatment that helps improve aerodynamics. A set of nineteen-inch BBS wheels hide a set of Brembo brakes that help bring the IS-F to a smooth stop. Out back is a set of quad exhaust tips that can rival models from Germany in the sound department.
Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 engine making 416 horsepower and 371 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic with paddle-shifters, the IS-F can hit 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 170 MPH. EPA rates the IS-F at 16 City/23 Highway/18 Combined. The suspension gets new dampers, revised springs, and stabilizer bars which help improve stability and cornering.
Inside, you sit in a set of bucket seats that can be had in leather or leather with alcantara. The interior is lined with aluminum and carbon fiber trim, and the instrument cluster has a large tachometer sitting in the middle. You can add navigation, a 14-Speaker Mark Levinson audio system, park assist, and much more if you opt for the Navigation System/Mark Levinson Package with Additional Options which costs $4,525.
Pricing for the 2013 Lexus IS-F begins at $61,750. The competition for the IS-F includes the Audi RS5, BMW M3, and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.
