2013 Honda Fit EV Video Review

The Honda Fit is one of our favorite subcompacts on sale today due to its combination of space, fun-to-drive dynamics, fuel efficiency, and value for money. But Honda thought to take it a bit higher and has introduced an electric version of the Fit.

The Fit EV swaps the 1.5L inline-four engine for a 92 kW electric motor and 20kWh Lithium-Ion battery pack. Performance figures for the Fit EV stand at 123 horsepower and 189 pound-feet. Honda says the Fit EV can travel up 82 miles when fully charged. Please note that the range can fluctuate due to weather and how hard you drive it. Recharging takes about fifteen hours when plugged into a 120V outlet, and just three hours when plugged into a 240V outlet. A unique feature in the Fit EV is the 3-Mode Drive System which allows a driver to pick from three distinct modes: Normal, Sport, and Eco. Outside changes to the Fit EV include a revised front end, redesigned rear-wing and lower fascia, and unique fifteen-inch alloy wheels to help reduce drag. Inside the Fit EV there is a new gauge cluster and Honda’s satellite navigation system.

You cannot buy a Honda Fit EV at all. You can lease one for $389 per month for 36 months. Also, Honda is offering the Fit EV only in California, Oregon, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey.
