The Civic Hybrid looks like your standard Civic sedan. The telling signs that you're looking at a hybrid are the distinctive wheels, clear taillights, lip spoiler, and the all telling hybrid badge. The Civic's Hybrid's interior is much the same story with a similar interior layout as other Civics with the split-level instrument cluster, color screen for trip computer, and simple interface for the climate control and radio. Standard equipment for the Civic Hybrid includes Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and a six-speaker sound system.

Under the hood is Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system which pairs a 1.5L four-cylinder engine (110 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque) and a electric motor (23 horsepower and 78 pound-feet of torque). A CVT and Lithium-Ion battery pack complete the system. The IMA systems differs from other hybrid systems since the electric motor cannot propel the vehicle by itself. It acts as a helper unit to the gas engine. The EPA rates the 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid at 44 City/44 Highway/44 Combined.
