2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Video Review

The Ford Mustang has been known to be quick in a straight line, but not around corners. That has changed with the current generation Mustang as it actually does very well when shown a corner. But Ford knew that it wasn’t enough and built a Mustang that can give more expensive sports cars a run for their money. That Mustang wears a classic name that hasn’t been seen since Muscle Car era, the Boss 302.

The Boss 302 focuses more on making the Mustang a monster on the track. That begins with the suspension as Ford put in new coil springs, stiffer suspension bushings, larger-diameter rear stabilizer bar, adjustable shocks, and a retuned steering system. To compliment those changes, Ford has also installed a new traction control system and electronic stability control system to help drivers get the best performance whether on the track or open road. A set of Brembo brakes, lightweight nineteen-inch alloy wheels, and Pirelli PZero summer tires finish it off.

Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 engine producing 444 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. That power is sent through a six-speed manual transmission. Inside, the Boss 302 gets a set of sport seats with Alcantara inserts. Alcantara also lines the steering wheel and headliner.

The 2013 Mustang Boss 302 begins at $42,200. Competitors include the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE and Dodge Challenger SRT8.
