2013 marks the swan song of the sixth-generation Corvette, but that doesn’t mean Chevrolet is stepping off the pedal anytime soon. The sixth-generation model saw the widest range of models; from the base Corvette coupe and convertible to the monstrous, supercharged Corvette ZR1. The one we’re taking a look at today is the Corvette Grand Sport which sits between the base Corvette and Corvette Z06. The Corvette Grand Sport starts off as a base Corvette with its 6.2L V8 engine making 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque.
You have the choice of either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. From there, Chevrolet adds on a new suspension setup with stiffer springs and and specific shock absorbers to the Grand Sport, new brakes that includes six-piston front and four-piston rear cross-drilled rotors, a revised cooling system, and a number of other items. Outside, the Corvette Grand Sport denotes its status by a Z06-style front splitter, wider front and rear fenders, Grand Sport badging, and a tall rear spoiler. Pricing for the 2013 Corvette Grand Sport starts at $56,995 for the coupe and $61,590 for the convertible. Competitors for the Corvette Grand Sport include the BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C63, and Porsche Cayman S.
