2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition Celebrates America's Finest

Jeep will always have strong ties with the United States military, and now the brand is honoring those who serve this country with the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition. Available on both the two-door Jeep Wrangler and the four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, the Freedom Edition is on sale now with prices starting at $28,165. Not only does the premium over a base Wrangler get an exclusive styling with limited colors, it also accounts for $250 of which Chrysler Group LLC will be donating to two organizations that focus on helping American troops and their families.

Based on the Wrangler Sport, the Freedom Edition has a unique appearance in that it is only offered in red (Deep Cherry Red), white (Bright White) and blue (True Blue) exterior colors that are accented by gray-accented wheels, grille and bumper inserts. The 17 -inch wheels are the same as what are found on the Wrangler Rubicon, the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition also adds plenty of optional accessories including the side steps, taillight guards and the Mopar fuel filler door. Adding to the military look of this new model, the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition has unique fender badges, hood decal and seat embroidery, and like all current Wranglers, the Freedom Edition still has "Since 1941" etched into the passenger side of the instrument panel.

For each 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom sold, Jeep says it will split the $250 donations between the Fisher House Foundation and the I Support Foundation. Since 1990, the Fisher House Foundation has been helping providing lodging to families who have a loved serving in a branch of the military one who has been hospitalized due to an illness, disease or injury. As of 2011, there are 57 Fisher Houses open in the U.S. and Germany, and the not-for-profit organization, and in its existence have served more than 160,000 families saving them more than $192 million in lodging, food and transportation costs. As for the I Support Foundation (ISF), it raises money by selling magnets and wristbands, and then it donates 95 percent of the proceeds to provide support for troops returning home whether it be for healthcare or job placement. An interesting note about ISF is that for every 12,500 wristbands the organization sells, it gives a new Jeep Wrangler away to one of its customers. Chrysler also has a "Military Bonus Customer Cash" that is an extra $500 incentive on all of its brands (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat) available active and retired military and active and retired military reserved.
