The Audi S4 is a luxury sedan that offers performance that is a cut above the rest of the German brand's entry-level lineup without sacrificing comfort or style in the process. The Audi S4 can accommodate as many as five passengers and cuts a striking figure when parked beside the standard Audi A4 thanks to the inclusion of an aggressive aero-focused body kit and unique 18-inch wheels.
All versions of the Audi S4 come with a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 that can be counted on to produce 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment, as is Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system. Buyers can also select a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission as an option. Fuel mileage for the Audi S4 checks in at 18-mpg city and 28-mpg highway.
The Audi S4 starts out in 3.0T Premium Plus trim (MSRP $47,300) which comes with features such as HID headlights, LED front running lights and LED taillights, heated leather seats with memory settings for the driver, Bluetooth connectivity and a CD player. Upgrading to the 3.0T Prestige trim (MSRP $54,000) brings with it keyless entry, voice controls over the vehicle's entertainment and navigation system, a hard drive for storing digital music files, parking assistance, a rearview camera and adaptive headlights.
Options available with the Audi S4 include adaptive cruise control, a full leather interior and the Audi Drive Select package. The latter revamps the suspension system to include adaptive shock absorbers, adds a rear differential that can send torque to either wheel in order to enhance cornering, quicker steering and several different drive settings.
A list of cars similar to the S4 includes the 2012 BMW 335iX, 2012 Mercedes Benz C300 4-Matic and 2012 Infiniti G37x.
