The 2024 Jeep Wrangler gets a series of enhancements from capability to technology that make this iconic off-road vehicle even more appealing. The Rubicon trim gets a new winch and a new rear axle for improved capability while an even more capable Rubicon X trim joins the lineup. There’s also a new Sport S 4xe trim as a part of the plug-in hybrid lineup of Wranglers.
Standard features are improved as well as feature availability. Off Road+ makes its way from gas models to the 4xe plug-ins for better handling out on the trail. There’s also a new Trails Offroad guide as a part of the Uconnect infotainment system. The Wrangler boasts lots of improvements this year. Here are the 10 best features of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler.
No matter which trim of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler you choose, it’s a capable off-roader, but not all trims are created equal. The Rubicon has long been the most off-road focused trim with enhanced features for tackling the most challenging of terrain. This year, a new Rubicon X joins the lineup with even more advanced off-road features.
It has standard 35-inch tires, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, a 1.5-inch factory lift, swing gate reinforcement, an integrated front off-road camera, and steel bumpers. This new trim also has a 9-speaker Alpine premium audio system, Nappa leather seating surfaces, and a heated steering wheel and seats. It combines its off-road capability with plenty of creature comforts for a premium experience.

In addition to a whole new Rubicon X, the existing Rubicon trim gets a series of upgrades to improve its capability. This includes a Dana 44 HD full-float rear axle and available factory Warn winch. The Rubicon also has a new 5,000-pound tow rating for taking along whatever you need on your next adventure.
Available features are expanded to include 12-way power front seats for a more comfortable ride. There’s a standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and, on the safety front, side curtain airbags for the first and second rows. The Rubicon continues to offer the capability to tackle rugged off-road terrain with interior upgrades to make every day driving more comfortable.

There are multiple powertrain options to choose from for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler, including the plug-in hybrid 4xe. This trim combines all the capability and fun of the Wrangler with the efficiency of electrification. It features a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 4xe has approximately 21 miles of all-electric range with the ability to choose whether to use the gas engine, the battery, or a combination of the two at the press of a button. This allows for saving the battery until off road for a uniquely silent off-road experience, especially if you open the windows or, better yet, remove the doors and roof.

On the list of available engines is a 6.4-liter V8 with 470-horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is also paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This performance engine is found only on the Rubicon 392, making it not just a powerful option, but an exceptionally capable one.
This trim has all the standard Rubicon features along with the Xtreme 35 Package. This adds 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and a 1.5-inch factory lift. There’s also a two-mode dual exhaust, a cold air intake hood with water separator, a full-time transfer case, an integrated off-road camera, red Nappa leather seats, heated seats and steering wheel, and a 9-speaker premium Alpine audio system.

Previously only available on Rubicon gas trims, Off Road+ is now available on the Rubicon 4xe, Willys 4xe, and Willys gas models. This drive mode adjusts vehicle settings for optimized off-road driving. The throttle, transmission shift points, and traction control are all altered to make it easier and more fun to drive when you leave the pavement.
Used in conjunction with 4HI, those settings still allow for driving at higher speeds like sand and mud and permit the electronic locking rear differential to lock. In 4LO, the system focuses on low-speed driving whether uneven terrain that requires slow going or rock crawling.

The infotainment system in the 2024 Jeep Wrangler gets a major upgrade with a new standard 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. This is a big improvement over the 5-inch and 7-inch screens that were available for the prior model year. This system includes the latest version of Uconnect and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
It’s an intuitive system that’s easy to use with clean, well-organized menus. The screen responds quickly to user inputs to reduce frustration, and the new larger screen size makes it much easier to follow navigation. Instead of feeling dated due to the small screens, the new larger screen makes the Wrangler feel more modern and more competitive.

The Jeep Wrangler has long been famous for providing an open-air driving experience. You can take off the doors and the roof to let the outside in, which is especially fun when you’re driving off road. It adds to the adventure of it all and isn’t something you can find in most other vehicles.
There are also multiple roof options with hard and soft tops depending on your preferences. The soft top got a major upgrade with the introduction of this generation so it’s much easier to remove and less frustrating to reinstall. There’s also the Sky One-Touch, which is a power soft top roof that spans the full roof and slides back at the press of a button.

If it’s not enough to take off all the doors and the roof of your 2024 Jeep Wrangler, then there’s one more thing you can do to open it up and enjoy the outdoors. The whole windshield drops down to rest on the hood so you can feel the air in your face. It’s not hard to do and requires simply removing four bolts and pulling off the wipers.
Once that’s done the windshield simply tilts down from the bottom edge to rest on the hood. Don’t worry about the paint getting scratched. Jeep built-in little rubber windshield rests that are part of the hood so that both the windshield and hood are protected.

Off-road enthusiasts will love the new Trails Offroad guide to help them plot their next adventure. This is the first factory application of this feature, and it comes loaded right into the Uconnect infotainment system. It provides trail guides for all 62 Jeep Badge of Honor trails, so wherever you roam you can conquer these trails and earn the corresponding badge to put on your Jeep.
That’s cool in and of itself, but if you want more, then there is a subscription with a full catalog of over 3,000 trails for you to explore. Whether you just take advantage of free trail maps or choose to upgrade for more, Trails Offroad lets you better take advantage of nearby trails, especially when you’re in an unfamiliar area.
